RETRACTION-CORRECTIONS

Retraction and/or Corrections

Post-Publication Correction, Retraction and Editorial Notice Policy

The Journal of Computer Science and Technology Application (CORISINTA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes that errors, research misconduct, ethical concerns, or other issues may be identified after an article has been published. In such circumstances, CORISINTA will take appropriate editorial action to correct the published record and maintain the credibility of scientific communication.

1. General Policy

CORISINTA may issue a correction, retraction, or Expression of Concern depending on the nature, seriousness, and implications of the identified problem. All post-publication actions are handled by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the relevant Handling Editor, Editorial Board members, reviewers, or other experts when necessary.

Editorial decisions are made based on available evidence, research integrity, publication ethics, and the potential impact of the issue on the reliability of the published article. The journal aims to ensure that every action is fair, documented, transparent, and consistent with established publication ethics practices.

POST-PUBLICATION ACTION 1

2. Corrections

A correction is issued when an error is identified in a published article but the overall validity and main conclusions of the research remain reliable. CORISINTA may publish a correction when the identified issue requires clarification or amendment to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record.

Corrections may include:
Author and Affiliation Information

Errors in author names, institutional affiliations, author contributions, or other publication metadata.

Typographical and Editorial Errors

Spelling mistakes, formatting problems, incorrect references, or other editorial errors that require correction.

Tables, Figures, and Data Presentation

Incorrect labels, captions, figure references, or presentation details that do not invalidate the main research findings.

Clarification of Published Information

Additional clarification or amendments needed to prevent misunderstanding of the published content.

Depending on the nature of the error, CORISINTA may publish an Erratum for errors introduced during the journal's publication or production process, or a Corrigendum for errors originating from the authors.

A correction notice will identify the original article, describe the correction, and provide a link to the published article. The correction will be published as a separate, accessible editorial notice and linked to the original article wherever technically possible.

POST-PUBLICATION ACTION 2

3. Retractions

A retraction is issued when there is clear and sufficient evidence that a published article contains serious problems that undermine the reliability of its findings, conclusions, or publication integrity. Retraction is intended to correct the scholarly record and protect readers from relying on unreliable research.

CORISINTA may consider retracting an article under the following circumstances:
1
Plagiarism
Substantial copying of another person's work, ideas, or findings without appropriate acknowledgment.
2
Data Fabrication or Falsification
Evidence of fabricated, manipulated, or falsified research data, images, results, or other research materials.
3
Duplicate or Redundant Publication
Substantial overlap with previously published work without appropriate disclosure, permission, or justification.
4
Serious Research Errors
Major methodological, analytical, or technical errors that make the research findings or conclusions unreliable.
5
Research Ethics Violations
Serious violations involving research participants, ethical approval, informed consent, or other applicable research ethics requirements.
6
Copyright or Legal Violations
Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials or other serious legal issues affecting the publication.
7
Compromised Peer Review
Manipulation, falsification, or serious compromise of the peer-review or editorial decision-making process.
8
Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest
Failure to disclose significant competing interests that materially affect the interpretation or credibility of the published research.

Important: Retraction is not intended as a punishment for authors. Its primary purpose is to correct the scholarly record and maintain the integrity of academic publications. Honest errors that do not invalidate the research should normally be addressed through a correction rather than retraction.

POST-PUBLICATION ACTION 3

4. Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern is a formal editorial notice issued when substantial questions arise regarding a published article, but the available evidence is not yet sufficient to justify an immediate correction or retraction.

CORISINTA may issue an Expression of Concern when:

  • An investigation into suspected research misconduct is ongoing.
  • Significant concerns have been raised regarding the validity of the published findings.
  • Relevant institutions or research authorities are conducting an investigation.
  • The available evidence is incomplete or inconclusive.

The notice will explain the nature of the concern in an objective manner and will be linked to the affected article. Once sufficient evidence becomes available, the journal will determine whether further action, including correction or retraction, is necessary.

5. Reporting and Investigation Procedure

Authors, readers, reviewers, editors, institutions, and other interested parties may report suspected errors, research misconduct, or publication ethics concerns involving articles published in CORISINTA.

Reports should include relevant information and supporting evidence to allow the Editorial Team to assess the matter appropriately.

The investigation process consists of the following stages:
1

Receipt of Report

The journal receives a complaint or notification and records the relevant article information and supporting evidence.

2

Preliminary Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor evaluates the relevance, credibility, and seriousness of the reported concern.

3

Author Notification and Response

The corresponding author is contacted and given an appropriate opportunity to provide clarification, explanations, and supporting evidence.

4

Further Investigation

The journal reviews the available evidence and may consult independent experts, reviewers, institutional representatives, or relevant authorities when necessary.

5

Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief determines the appropriate action based on the evidence, which may include no action, correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction.

6
Publication of Editorial Notice

The journal publishes the appropriate notice, updates the article record, and communicates the outcome to relevant parties.

Investigation timeframe: The duration depends on the complexity of the case, the availability of evidence, author responses, and consultation with relevant institutions or experts. CORISINTA does not impose a fixed completion period that could compromise the fairness and accuracy of the investigation.

6. Editorial Decision and Author Response

The Editor-in-Chief has the final authority to determine whether a correction, retraction, or Expression of Concern should be issued. Editorial decisions are made independently and based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the identified problem, and relevant publication ethics standards.

Authors will normally be informed of the concerns and provided with an opportunity to respond before a final editorial decision is made. The journal will consider the authors' explanations and supporting documents as part of its assessment.

However, the journal may proceed with an appropriate editorial action even if an author does not respond, cannot be contacted, or disagrees with the decision, provided that sufficient evidence supports the action. The authors' disagreement or lack of consent will not automatically prevent a justified retraction.

7. Retraction Notice and Publication Record

When a retraction is approved, CORISINTA will publish a separate and clearly identified Retraction Notice. The notice will be freely accessible and linked to the original article to ensure that readers can identify the publication's status.

A Retraction Notice should include:
  • The title and author names of the affected article.
  • The original publication details and DOI, where available.
  • The date of the original publication and the retraction notice.
  • A clear statement identifying the notice as a retraction.
  • The party responsible for initiating the retraction, where appropriate.
  • The reason or reasons for the retraction.
  • A clear and objective explanation of the issue.
  • A direct link to the original published article.

Retracted articles will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record, with a clear RETRACTED identification on the article landing page and in the available full-text versions. The original article will not be silently deleted or replaced without an explanatory editorial notice, except where legal or other exceptional circumstances require a different approach.

8. DOI, Metadata, and Indexing Updates

To maintain the accuracy and traceability of the scholarly record, CORISINTA will make reasonable efforts to ensure that correction and retraction notices are properly connected to the affected articles.

Where applicable, the journal will:

  • Assign a separate DOI to correction or retraction notices when supported by the journal's DOI registration system.
  • Maintain links between the original article and its related editorial notice.
  • Update the article landing page and relevant publication metadata.
  • Communicate relevant changes to DOI registration agencies and indexing services where applicable.
  • Ensure that the publication status is clearly identifiable in available article records.

These actions are intended to improve transparency, prevent the continued use of unreliable research, and preserve the integrity of the academic publication record.

9. Confidentiality and Fair Treatment

CORISINTA handles all reports and investigations with fairness, objectivity, and appropriate confidentiality. Information obtained during an investigation will only be shared with individuals or organizations directly involved in resolving the matter, where necessary.

The journal will avoid premature conclusions, personal accusations, or public statements that are not supported by sufficient evidence. All parties involved will be treated fairly and given an appropriate opportunity to provide relevant information.

The journal also reserves the right to contact the authors' affiliated institutions or other relevant authorities when necessary to verify serious allegations or obtain additional information.

10. Reporting Errors and Publication Concerns

Readers, authors, reviewers, and other interested parties who identify potential errors, research misconduct, or publication ethics concerns are encouraged to contact the CORISINTA Editorial Team through the journal's official communication channels.

Reports should provide the article title, author information, DOI or article URL, a description of the concern, and relevant supporting evidence whenever available.
